Anat Suria's documentary "Mekudeshet" ("Sentenced to Marriage" in the English version) trails the stories of three women in their struggle to obtain their get. Hidden microphones reveal the disturbing reality of a mesurevet get's experiences in a session with the Beit Din, and in her plight in general.
Since the production of this documentary, people have become very much aware of the problem. We are proud to be one of Anat's main sources, as we assisted her on her research and during the filming.
Mavoi Satum has recently arranged for a screening of "Mekudeshet" at the Tel Aviv Cinemateque, in addition to similar screenings throughout Israel, in support of the documentary's candidacy for the Israeli Film Academy's award for Best Documentary. Each screening opens the eyes of its audience members to the need for urgent movement in the issue of get refusal.
